Kathryn Oatway

Kathryn Oatway proved to be a hardworking, original and creative student at HMHS.  Her favorite subjects were History and English, specifically writing.  Kathryn maintained a 92.7 grade point average in a very demanding environment at HMHS; taking a variety of Accelerated and Advanced Placement courses.  Furthermore, Kathryn was inducted as a member of the prestigious National Honor Society.

Beyond achievements in the classroom, Kathryn was a dedicated HMHS athlete on the varsity tennis and lacrosse teams.  She enjoyed being an annual HMHS volunteer for Martin Luther King, Jr. day of service and Operation Smile a volleyball marathon to raise money for children with cleft palates.  In particular, Kathryn donated her time to Possibility Players, which is a theater group for people with disabilities.  During the summer months, Kathryn taught reading to elementary children at her church, and worked regularly at a nearby farm.

Kathryn is a happy, energetic and independent person.  What really sets Kathryn apart from her peers is her work ethic and commitment to a task. She was the type of student who always gave 100% effort and more.  She is currently attending Syracuse University.
