2017 Scholarship RecipientJoseph Ellis Back to view all H.A.S. Scholarship Recipients Joseph Ellis was the 2017 winner of the Haddonfield Alumni Society Scholarship. Joseph was a member of the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Foundation and was elected to be a representative from HMHS for the 3 day NJ HOBY seminar. He was also a Staff Member and Committee member for HOBY. Joe was a student council delegate and a member of the Peer Mentor program for 10th and 11th grade. He completed Concentration of studies in Business, and was inducted into National Honor Society and French National Honor Society. Joey played Varsity Football all four years of high school. In 2013 and 2014 they won the SJ G2 Sectional Championship, and were semi-finalists in 2015. Mr. Ellis created posters for National Hispanic Heritage month to raise awareness. Joe was a member of the Winter Track and Spring Track teams. He participated in the Penn Relays, Nationals, and 2016 Sprint Medley State Championship. He volunteered for the Food Bank of South Jersey and formed his own organization to head neighborhood food drives. He also organized a spirit week fundraiser. Joe was a Haddonfield Japan Exchange Student Ambassador, and a member of the 2014 Drexel University Mock Trial program. Joe made first honor roll every quarter of all 4 years of high school. |
